Kia Ora and Welcome!
Kia Ora and Welcome,
I am pleased to introduce this blog!
My intention with this blog is to share insights and concepts that I have found helpful and encouraging.
Some entries come from the painful lessons of my own life, others are wisdom I have discovered to be greatly encouraging. But mostly they are about something I have devoted a lot of time and thought to: the crux point of transition between the old and the new. The ways and means of accepting the challenge of making a new beginning, and then achieving and sustaining traction on the path of change.
My heart as a counsellor is to see people come to clarity of mind and clarity of action. To increase the clarity of perception people have of themselves, their situation, and of reality. And to determine a course and a strategy which, with envisioned persistence, can deliver the life they hope for.
These insights come from years working as a youth pastor and youth worker, speaking with young people and their families, from apprenticing under a variety of mentors, and from studying under David Riddell and his Living Wisdom approach to Pastoral Counselling.
My hope is that these insights would be as useful, helpful and have as much sense-making power for the lives of people who read them as they have had for me.
I doubt any will be brand new, more a fresh twist (hopefully) and a reminder or memory jog (and how often do we need to be gently reminded!)
Iād love to hear what you think of them, and hear your ideas. If anything you read appears helpful for people you know and love, please share it with them.
Thanks for reading,
Aaron.
